High-Vis army initiative continues to produce job-ready graduates
Tasmania’s civil construction workforce continues to grow, with another round of graduates recently completing the High-Vis Army Civil Construction Pre-Employment Program in Burnie. The graduates undertook a six-week program, gaining skills and knowledge for a range of roles including civil labouring, truck driving, traffic control, pipe-laying, plant-operating, concreting and a range of other skilled roles in civil construction.

SPARK collaboration boosts women into the construction industry
Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) was proud to be one of the industry partners who worked together to give 15 women a break into the heavily male-dominated construction industry through the SPARK, ATC and Lendlease Women in Construction Jobtrainer Program in 2022. The fully funded five-week program delivered a combination of theory, practical hands-on learning, site tours, and work preparation sessions to the group of enthusiastic participants.

Women Apprentices in Victorian Electrical (WAVE Project)
The purpose of the WAVE project was to increase the participation of women (and people who identified as being female) in electrical apprenticeships in Victoria.
To enable the participants to both gain and have the support structure in place to complete their electrical apprenticeship, participants completed the Certificate II in Electrotechnology (career start) and were provided with a range of targeted support services.
