Bhutan and Australia TVET sector reform project

With the financial support of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, TDA is running a project aimed at supporting the Bhutanese Government in upgrading their technical and vocational education and training (TVET) system.   More specifically, the project aims to: 

    • Deepen industry engagement in the TVET sector, particularly in the tourism and hospitality sector and in occupational health and safety. 

Strengthening teacher quality

In 2020 and early 2021, TDA has implemented, in partnership with PwC Georgia, the World Bank funded project Strengthening Teacher Quality in VET in Georgia. TDA and Australian TAFE experts have been involved in supporting the development of:

    • Teacher performance evaluation concepts, methodology and tools in relation to teacher performance evaluation;
    • Student assessment methodology and tools; and
    • A training program for school principals, and conducting training of trainers with the Georgian Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports.

Program Latihan Kepimpinan Pendidikan Vokasional Australia India (VELT)

TDA, bekerjasama dengan institusi TAFE, telah memberikan latihan kepemimpinan dan pemerintahan kepada lebih 200 pemimpin dari institusi pendidikan dan latihan vokasional India, termasuk Kashual Kendras, politeknik dan kolej komuniti. Projek ini menyaksikan wakil TAFE pergi ke India untuk memberikan latihan kepemimpinan, dan kemudian menyokong lawatan bimbingan selama seminggu oleh pemimpin institusi India.

Sejumlah perkongsian antara TAFE dan institusi telah muncul sebagai hasil projek ini.

Brazil, Chile, Peru - Meningkatkan kemahiran profesional pelatih dalam bidang terapan konteks pembelajaran

TDA has been awarded a grant by the Council of Australia and Latin American Relations (COALAR) to showcase Australia`s capabilities in relation to TVET delivery, with a focus on the TAFE applied training model and the training of trainers.

Due to COVID-related travel restrictions, TDA will run a series of webinars with partner organisations in Chile, Peru and Brazil with representatives from government, industry TVET associations and institutes. These webinars aim to demonstrate TAFE’s applied training model and strategies for engaging with industry in workforce analysis and course design.

Collaboration with Taiwanese Workforce Development Agency

TDA has been working with the Taiwanese Government’s Workforce Development Agency in the Ministry of Labor since 2013 on supporting the development of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) capacity.

In 2020, the cooperation focused on the areas of:

    •  Trainer recruitment and progression; and
    • Competency-based course certification.
